Monkey
In The Hunter's Trick, there are two types of Monkeys. There are several smaller Monkeys that are cowardly "yes-men" to the larger Monkey. The larger Monkey is a stereotypical bully. It acts tough and eats people, but it is cowardly when confronted with power. Uncontested, it is selfish and brutal.
Monkeys are have also been portrayed in a better light, as in The Monkey's Gratitude. In this story the Monkey is portrayed as a creature that is clever and brave. The Monkey also repays favors that are done for it.
Over all, the Monkey portrays the large variety of traits expressed and seen in humans. This may be due to the similarity in appearance and mannerisms found between Humans and Monkeys.
